Governor Ron DeSantis signs executive order allowing for parental choice when it comes to school masking

In Cape Coral on July 30, 2021 our Governor, Ron DeSantis, signed an executive order banning Florida schools from reimposing mask mandates for all children in Florida public schools for the 2021-2022 school year.

He made this announcement at a press conference, explaining “protecting the rights of parents” is incredibly important and this comes with the signing of the Parental Bill of Rights that passed in the 2020-2021 legislative session.  He also had many parents speak at the press conference, offering testimony to what they and their children went through in the 2020 school  year.

“My message is, don’t stop fighting for your kids,” said Brenda Clark who told her story about how her daughter has severe asthma and how she had to battle the school district with two doctors notes and still lost out, and her daughters had to be homeschooled.
